John Henry

John Henry, or John Henry's House

There are some great songs about John Henry. He was an American folk hero, a simple hard worker. He worked as a steel-driver, hammering the railroads. When his job was under threat by a new steam-powered hammer, he tries to beat it, winning only to die from exhaustion afterwards.
